Welcome to the mCAMP website
mCAMP is an integrated approach to multiculturalism through the arts! Secular, free and fun!
We are not a performance-based program, but rather one that endeavours to build community by learning about the diverse cultures represented in our membership
mCAMP is a free program designed to share the arts with children in the greater London area. Participants between the ages of five and fifteen meet on Wednesday evenings from 600-730 to study music, art, dance and drama. The program is nondenominational and is designed to build community within a fun, supportive, secular, atmosphere. You will find everything you need on the following pages to help you get involved.
Join us for the beginning of new year at mCAMP!
We invite your children to join us for the beginning of another exciting year of learning about various cultures through the arts. In 2017-18 we will be studying the cultures of Germany, Japan and Afghanistan. New members are always welcome and we will begin programming on Wednesday September 6th, with registration at 530. mCAMP teams up with The London Chinese Cultural Centre to learn about China!
During April and May the members of mCAMP studied the culture of China with teachers from the London Chinese Cultural Centre. We were so delighted to have the chance to study Calligraphy, Chinese Folk Dancing, Tai Chi and Traditional Chinese Instruments under professional teachers from the CCC.
mCAMP learns about Scottish Culture!
In January and February of 2017, the members of mCAMP learned all about the culture, art, music and dance of Scotland. We had a chance to sing beautiful folksongs, dance Scottish Highland dance with a remarkable teacher and her troupe and also learn to draw the very intricate Scottish interwoven braid drawing! Once we were ready, we took what we had learned and performed it for the residents of The McCormick Home in London!
